Girls Club

Foxfield School Girls Club was set up in recognition that girl’s on the autistic spectrum can have different needs to their male peers. Many enjoy socialising but can find it difficult to coordinate friendships.

Sometimes girls with autism need help to hone social skills in realistic settings. The club is open to all female pupils, not just girls with a diagnosis of autism.

Staff use activities that provide opportunities for girl’s to socialise in a fun, safe and non judgemental environment.

This approach helps to promote social competence in girls on the spectrum and help them establish rewarding relationships. It’s also lots of fun! Girls club meet for one hour every Friday lunchtime.
