Foxfield School provides an English Curriculum for pupils ranging from key stage 3 through to our Post 16 department. There are variances in the curriculum to reflect the changing needs of our pupils. At key stages 3 and 4 pupils’ follow an adapted National Curriculum. By Post 16, there is a national trend for a lower rate of academic learning. There is also a shift in emphasis at Post 16 so that pupils develop the necessary life skills and learn to become better equipped for life beyond Foxfield School. Pupils at Post 16 undertake a relevant curriculum to consolidate and generalise academic skills through a functional literacy approach. There are also opportunities for our more able learners to undertake qualifications in Functional Literacy, particularly if their attainment has reached National Curriculum levels.
